I’m a massive fan of Lego’s PR and it’s done it again with its latest stunt that’s hit the headlines.

Previously, the Danish toy maker has built a lifesize Volvo car, done it’s own version of famous album covers and even built a 10m tall Christmas tree in London’s Kings Cross St Pancras railway station.

This time it’s found a British policeman who looks just like one of their new limited-edition police figures. OK, he doesn’t really – but never let the truth get in the way of a good story!

The newspapers are full of the comparison between Hampshire police officer PC Rob ‘Norm’ Thomas and the plastic plod (thanks Daily Mirror for that one) that shares his collar number – 1337.

Rob is clearly enjoying the spotlight and gives some great quotes which really add to the story, as well as giving a great insight into the work he does on the beat in Eastleigh.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the PR office at Lego HQ as I bet the team are rubbing their hands at such great coverage – which has publicised the fact that limited edition police figures are in the shops.

Is this Lego’s best PR yet?
